Real-life Quidditch is sweeping colleges across the world, including the University of Texas at Austin.
This was a project for a film class at UT. I play on the Texas Quidditch team, which has expanded considerably since this short documentary!

The International Quidditch Association has hundreds of teams around the world that play real-life Quidditch. It's a co-ed, physical contact sport that's intense with a dash of silly. The players come from all majors, all athletic (or non-athletic) backgrounds, and all levels of Harry Potter knowledge (or complete lack of wizard knowledge). It's a very diverse team that joins to play a sport that started out as a fictional, flying sport in a fantasy series.
I LOVE Quidditch! Since I made this documentary, Texas Quidditch has expanded considerably- going from a small group holding the casual games shown in the film, to having multiple full teams including one that competed in New York City against 100 teams from around the world and ended up placing 9th overall. Now it's fun to look back on the early days of our club's existence.
